Day 01: Delhi (Arrival)- Chandigarh
Arrive at Delhi airport/ rly Station, after traditional Welcome our Japji Travel representative would assist you at airport & proceed to Chandigarh by car (Approx 260Km / 5 Hrs). Check in Chandigarh hotel. After fresh up visit Chandigarh city sightseeing.
Sukhna Lake is a beautiful lake that lies in the foothills of Shivalik range. The unique thing about Sukhna is that it is a manmade lake. It is a 3 km long lake that was created in the year 1958. It was done by damming the Sukhna Chloe, which a seasonal stream is flowing down from the Shivalik hills. Sukhana Lake of Chandigarh, India has become an integral part of the city. People visit this place in the morning to enjoy the cool breeze and the beauty of nature. Chandigarh Sukhna Lake serves as a great picnic spot and an apt place for pursuing water sport activities like boating, yachting and water skiing etc. The atmosphere over here is very serene and thus apt for meditating. Chandigarh rock garden is an epitome of creativity and innovation. It is a unique garden that consists of various art objects. But the best part about the rock garden is that each of its artwork has been made by using industrial & urban waste. It is located in Sector 1 between the Capitol Complex and Sukhna Lake. The credit for laying its foundation goes to Nek Chand, who was the then Road Inspector in the Engineering Department of Chandigarh Capital Project. Rock garden has been established in the form of an open-air exhibition hall. Day 02: Chandigarh - Amritsar
The Harmandir Sahib, also Darbar Sahib and informally referred to as the "Golden Temple", is the holiest Sikh gurdwara located in the city of Amritsar, Punjab, India. The city was founded in 1574 by the fourth Sikh guru, Guru Ram Das. Harmandir Sahib was designed by the fifth guru, Guru Arjan, who had the cornerstone laid by the Muslim Sufi saint Sai Hazrat Mian Mir on 28 December 1588. Guru Arjan completed the Adi Granth, the holy scripture of Sikhism, in 1604 and installed it in the gurdwara.
The Jallianwala Bagh massacre, also known as the Amritsar massacre, took place on 13 April 1919 when a crowd of nonviolent protesters, along with Baishakhi pilgrims, who had gathered in Jallianwala. Jallianwala Bagh is situated at a stone’s throw from The Golden Temple. It is a witness of the disaster called Jallianwala Bagh slaughter. As the history goes, during the time of independence struggle, when Mangal Pandey propel the bugle for beginning the struggle for independence, General Dyer made a rule that no Indian will be allowed to hold assembly or processions. On 13 April 1919, Baisakhi Day, thousands of Punjabis meets from nearby places to celebrate the festival. As the communication system was underdeveloped at that time, they were not informed about this rule. Thinking it as a destruction of the law, General Dyer entered in the Park with his troops and open excited on all the innocent men women and children present there. Break for lunch at your own expense. After lunch drive to Wagah Border by car 31 Km / 30 Mint.
Wagah (or Wagha) is a border town straddling the line between Pakistan and India, 29 km from the town of Lahore on the Pakistani side and 27 km from Amritsar on the Indian side. This is the only crossing point between Pakistan and India that is regularly open to foreigners. Drive back to Amritsar. Dinner and Over Night stay at hotel.
Day03: Departure from Amritsar
After breakfast board the Flight/ Train for your home town. Tour Concludes.
