About Jag Mandir Palace : This palace was built in the 17th century. Yellow sandstone and the purely white marble were used to erect the framework of this palace. Maharana Karan Singh started the work of building this palace. This palace was actually built as a hiding place for prince Khurram who was also known as Shah Jahan. Prince Khurram revolted against his father and Maharana Karan Singh helped him as price was born from a Rajput mother. Another lesser known fact about this palace is that prince Khurram or Shah Jahan used few of the ideas of architectural designs from this palace to build Taj Mahal.
Talking about the architectural design and framework, the Gul Mahal of this palace is a beauty to see. This Mahal was specially made in Islamic style of architecture for prince Khurram.
