About The Royal Cenotaphs : As soon as you enter the premises you get encountered with beautiful cenotaphs each of different designs and standing artistically in their own place. For every single deceased person of the royal family there is different cenotaph made in their memory. Various alluring cenotaphs for the kings and queens have been made there. Most of the ancient cenotaphs are made of red sandstone in which you can see intricate fine carvings in it of floral motifs, peacocks, lord Krishna and various other fine designs.
Once you visit The Royal Cenotaphs of Bikaner, you can see the oldest cenotaph of king Rao Kalyanmal of Bikaner who ruled from 1542 A.D to 1571 A.D. It is said that the last cenotaph is of Maharaja Karni Singh who ruled from 1950 A.D to 1988 A.D . But there are two small beautiful cenotaphs of Maharaj Sadul Singh (1925-2007) and of Maharaj Rajesh Kumar Singh (1959-2010).

The ceilings of the cenotaphs are painted in beautiful and colourful designs of lord Krishna , flowers, peacocks and various other birds and animals etc. The cenotaphs of males and females are distinguished by designs. The cenotaphs of female members have foot marks etched in it while the male cenotaphs have vertical slabs. The cenotaphs of minors do not have canopies over them.
