    About Bhandasar Jain Temple : This widely embraced temple of Bikaner was constructed in 1468 by Bhandasa Oswal who was quite a wealthy merchant at that time. He left no expenses to spend on the construction of this temple and its beautification. The construction went on even after his death in 1514. Hence the two storeyed temple was named after its founder, Bhandasa. The fascinating fact about this temple is that the mortar for it was not prepared in water but instead in 40000 kilograms of ghee which is said that it leaks and spreads on the floors of the temple during summers.

Dedicated to Sumatinathji who was the fifth Tirthankara of Jain sector this temple is embellished with amazing paintings and intricate carvings. Inside the temple a marble statue of Sumatinathji is adorned on a silver throne which is placed on a raised platform under a canopy.

    The temple has various sections divided inside it named as-  ardhamandapa, garbhgriha, antarala and mahamandapa. The pillars and arches of the temple exquisitely show their excellent architectural carvings. This magical temple is visited by many devotees, also it is a pilgrimage centre for Jains.
