Kiradu Temples are a group of five massive temples stationed in Barmer at Rajasthan. Earlier it was a lesser explored tourist spot but lately the beauty of the temples have been drawing the tourist towards the temple. These temples resemble quite much like the very famous Khajuraho temples of India which is why Kiradu Temples are known as 'Khajuraho of Rajasthan' . Anyone who knows about Kiradu temples cannot resist visiting it . Kiradu was originally a city between 6th and 8th century ruled by Kirads which were a Rajput clan. An ancient story is associated with the city which says there was an ancient sage who cursed the city as his wish was not fulfilled by anyone except the potter's wife so he asked her to leave the city before his curse. But when she was leaving she turned back to take a glimpse of the city and immediately turned into stone. Her stone statue can still be seen by tourists in the outskirts whenever they visit Kiradu temples. It is also said that one must leave the premises before sunset.
Kiradu Temples India are unique tourist attraction of the city Barmer because of the architectural designs and the legends conjoining with it. The body of the temple is remarkably appreciative and the sculptures are also quite eloquent. The Someshvara Temple from among the five temples is the most phenomenal.
Although being a lesser explored part of India the Kiradu Temples are archaeological prodigy of India. But recently after coming into people's knowledge it is emerging to be main tourist spot of Barmer Kiradu Temple. The main gate of the temples is forever locked and there is another smaller gate for entering it. One can see no guards and no toll windows there as in other tourist spots. Although being a little deserted place this place has the charm which can attract anyone towards itself . The beauty and the pictorialization of the framework is unbelievingly phenomenal.
