The Tripura Sundari Temple is located at Udaipur city in the Banswara district which is close to Agartala. The temple is regarded as one of the most holy places in this region and is commonly known as the MATABARI and is at the top of one minor hillock and the temple is protected and served by the priests who used to serve the goddess from ancient times. The Place is counted amongst the fifty one places of the Shakti Peethas in the Bengali culture. The place is believed to have the goddess’s right foot which fell during the Nataraj dance of Lord Shiva. The temple is structured like a square sanctum and the top of it is made like a cone. It was built in the year 1501 by Maharaja Dhanya Manikya Debbarma. The temple has two similar images of the goddesses; one of them is the Tripura Sundari and another one being the Chhotima.
